Cinematics

"Retreating" • Drama / War

What's left of a crippled US Army unit attempts to make a retreat deep in enemy territory after WWII's famous Battle of the Bulge.

"The Drop" • Drama / Crime

Parker, a teenager from a poor family, is working for a local con man on the side so he can make enough money to get out of his rural hometown and finally go to college. When he’s unable to locate a dead drop pick-up, he goes to confront the criminal who didn't fulfill his end of the deal.

Captain Rupert McNutt, a foppish, wannabe pirate, and a member of his misfit pirate crew, Kelly “Redlegs” O’Shea, are attempting to sell some booty they recently found floating in the bay.

Lottie, a popular video game streamer, is dating Brad, but they're still early on in their relationship.  Brad comes over to her place to cheer her up after a rough day of online drama.

"Iggles the Goblin" • Comedy / Fantasy

Iggles, an unhoused, panhandling goblin who isn't the sharpest blade in the barracks, is arrested in the streets and taken straight to jail.

In this first-person horror adventure game, you play as Sean Weaver, a teenage boy searching for his younger brother, who went missing after you witnessed a strange encounter with a man dressed like a cartoonish cereal mascot.

You’re at a busy bar with your buddy Dave and a group of other people you both know. As a joke, you've revealed that Dave once soiled himself at his work desk, embarrassing him in front of everyone there–especially his crush, Luella.

The "grad school" of game narrative writing. Learned directly from Susan O'Connor (Gears of War, Bioshock, Dishonored 2), Christie Golden (WoW, Overwatch 2, Diablo IV), Nessa Cannon (Star Trucker, Endoparasitic), Will Shen (Skyrim, Fallout 4, Fallout 76), Anna Megill (Control, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Project Orion), and Ben Books Schwartz (Lifeline, Ubisoft, Santa Monica Studio).

Game Writing Masterclass, Fall 2024 The Narrative Department

The essentials of game narrative writing and design. Learned directly from Susan O'Connor who has shipped over 25 projects, including groundbreaking, award-winning titles in the BioShock, Far Cry and Tomb Raider franchises, with titles in her portfolio selling over 30 million copies and generating over $500 million in sales. O'Connor also founded the Game Narrative Summit at GDC and has been an adjunct professor at UT Austin, where she taught writing for games.

Learned the basics of developing video games using the C# programming language and the Unity game engine on Windows / Mac.
